In keeping with their creative mandate on all aspects of a film’s distribution, the team at Cinereach generously agreed to release the DVD of The Cold Lands as a slip-case photo & poetry book entitled, Someone Else’s Nowhere. The DVD also featured my first short Touch Base, a collaboration with Lili Taylor from our theatre company days. Lili played the young boy’s mom in the feature. It is highly unusual for a production company to go to such extraordinary creative lengths to promote such a small independent film, and I am eternally grateful to Cinereach for taking the leap with me. The book is a beautiful object that enhances the experience of the film and broadens the understanding of the upstate New York region known as ‘the cold lands.’
