Haiku Not Bombs

Some years after the haiku year another group embarked on a similar haiku challenge, for whatever reason. Does there have to be a reason? It was largely organized by the artist/poet Shin Yu Pai, a big fan of the original project (we went on to do several haiku collaborations together). This one bypassed snail mail and employed the internet, where, not surprisingly, the response was more immediate but less tactile.

Shin Yu later spun it into a book with the Booklyn Artist’s Alliance, and we even did a couple of live readings (backed by the music of Loscil, if you’re interested).
